Today Nepomuceno was murdered by an armed convoy in the City of Hermosillo, Sonora. He was an activist of the Movement for peace. He demanded to have his son back, who was abducted in July 2010 and he accused the Mexican police of being involved in the abduction. He met the president to demand protection as he was being harassed ... but he did not receive it. He was a simple and charismatic northerner. He foresaw his death. He was conscious he had made too many accusations against the government. Even after being threatened, he persevered. He used to say: "It doesn't matter is I pass away in the attempt, but I can't abandon my son". Your courage becomes our inspiration... Monday 28th November 2011

Halte aux crimes de haine contre les femmes au Mexique, Halte à l'immpunité ! Alto a los crímenes de odio contra las mujeres Mexicanas, Alto a la impunidad ! Depuis 1993, près de 400 femmes ont été assassinées et 500 ont disparues à Ciudad Juárez . Progressivement, ces assassinats violents de femmes se sont étendu à tout le pays. Au Mexique, nous appelons ça des Feminicidios. « J'ai été enlevée, maintenue captive et soumise à une violence sexuelle féroce avant d'être mutilée, assassinée et abandonnée dans un terrain vague . A mes côtés, sous la terre, il ya beaucoup d'autres jeunes femmes pauvres, comme moi. Parfois, mes restes sont retrouvés au bout de quelques jours par des passants, parfois cela prend plusieurs années. Mais surtout, il arrive qu'on ne me retrouve jamais, et ma famille et mes proches vivent alors dans l'angoisse permanente, ignorant où je suis, si je suis vivante ou morte. Je suis une femme. Je travaille dans une maquiladora du nord du Mexique, dans un bar ou dans l'économie informelle, je suis étudiante. Je suis une mère, et une fille, une soeur et une amie. Ma famille est parvenue à transformer sa douleur en force. En plus de mon brutal assassinat, elle est confrontée quotidiennement à l'incompétence, la corruption, l'indifférence, la brutalité des forces de l'ordre et des responsables politiques. Ma famille espère, et exige, que justice soit rendue pour ma disparition et ma mort prématurée, c'est seulement ainsi qu'ils pourront recommencer à vivre ...

They demand a prompt, just and effective search for their loved ones. The war against drugs, led by Mexican President, Felipe Calderón, began in 2006. Since then... 10000 people have gone missing. 120000 have been displaced. 50000 people have been murdered.

In June 2011 The Caravan of Solace Travels to the North of Mexico Meeting countless victims along the way... People willing to speak out and end this Senseless war against mexicans This is just a chapter, the Movement continues. The caravan to the South will take place in September 2011. We ask for the support of the international community. Mass-media reports the war as a battle against criminal organization when in fact, criminal organizations and the government are often the same and their target is the Mexican population. To the women and men of the US... We want to remind you that more than 40 years ago, president Richard Nixon, announced the war on drugs. Since then, the consumption of illicit substances, has augmented instead of diminishing. Mexican president Felipe Calderón war on powerful drug trafficking organizations has gone on for more than 4 years and it has come at a high cost. More that 34 thousand people have already been killed and a growing number of them are innocent civilians.

Este 9 de mayo arribó al Monumento a la Madre en la Ciudad de México una marcha de madres de hijos de desaparecidos que provenían de diferentes puntos de la República Mexicana y algunas hasta de Centroamérica. Exigiendo paz y justicia para sus seres queridos. El 10 de mayo marcharon al Ángel de la Independencia donde se congregaron para un acto público. VIVOS SE LOS LLEVARON...VIVOS ESTARAN POR SIEMPRE EN NUESTROS CORAZONES...No paremos de luchar!

Una amplia coalición binacional de aliados respaldan al Movimiento por la Paz con Justicia y Dignidad en el lanzamiento de su tercera Caravana en Estados Unidos. Familiares de víctimas mexicanas de la guerra contra las drogas han extendido una invitación a apoyar y participar en este viaje que será encabezado por el poeta Javier Sicilia y recorrerá los EUA durante un mes. La Caravana por la Paz viajará más de 9400 kilómetros a través de los Estados Unidos y visitará más de 20 ciudades y comunidades, comenzando el 12 de Agosto en San Diego, California, y concluyendo con su arribo el 10 de Septiembre en Washington DC.
